On March 31, 2025, Peoria authorities revealed that charges have been filed against Andrew L. Webster, aged 26, in connection to a weekend shooting at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex. Webster is facing charges of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm for an incident on Saturday morning, where a man encountered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound while he was in bed.

A detention hearing held today concluded with the State's Petition to Detain Webster being granted. He will remain in custody until his trial.

The incident occurred around 12:25 am on Saturday. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3400 block of W. Fallen Oak Lane. Upon arrival, the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his side. The victim's girlfriend told officers that they were in bed with her two children when they heard five gunshots outside their apartment. After the shots were fired, the victim realized he had been struck by a bullet. Authorities reported no additional injuries. However, bullets also hit two other occupied apartments and three vehicles.

Through surveillance video analysis, officers identified Webster as a suspect. He was detained shortly after the shooting and admitted involvement. A firearm was seized during the investigation.

The investigation continues, with authorities urging anyone with information to contact the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
