State Representative Travis Weaver is set to kick off his annual 2025 Community Clean-Up Project in Pekin, Illinois. The initiative, starting on April 22 and running until May 16, aims to encourage environmental awareness through community involvement in litter collection and disposal.

Representative Weaver is inviting participants to document their clean-up efforts by submitting photos of themselves with the trash they gather. "The 2025 Community Clean-Up Project is a creative and fun initiative to preserve the beauty and well-being of our communities," said Rep. Weaver. "Together, our efforts can preserve a lasting impact. By working together, we can protect our environment and ensure a cleaner, healthier future for all."

Students interested in participating need to have permission from a parent or guardian to pick up litter in a location of their choice. They are expected to fill a standard kitchen-size trash bag with litter and submit a photo to a specified email address. Those who participate and submit their photos will receive a Certificate of Service from Rep. Weaver.

The project offers an opportunity for individuals of all ages to contribute to environmental improvement and community beautification.
