Kewanee High School has been recognized for its achievements in music and agriculture education. The Kewanee High School Band and Choir have won the IHSA Class A Music Sweepstakes Championship for the second year running. They amassed 897 points to secure the state championship, narrowly surpassing Sycamore, who finished with 873 points.

In addition, two students from Kewanee High School have earned recognition at the state level in the Illinois FFA. Kalleigh Gale achieved the title of state FFA proficiency winner in the category of food service entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, Kashen Ellerbrock ranked within the top five in the Illinois Association FFA’s sheep production competition. These accolades are notable among more than 42,000 FFA members in Illinois, of which only 240 qualify for the State Awards Day.

Further details on these achievements can be found via local media outlets.
