The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that lane closures will commence at the intersection of Illinois 29 and Cedar Hills Drive, north of Mossville, starting May 29. These closures are necessary for traffic signal work.
Initially, the left lanes of both northbound and southbound Illinois 29 will be closed. As the project progresses, changes to these closures can be expected. Motorists should anticipate delays and plan extra travel time through this area. When possible, alternate routes are recommended to avoid the construction zone.
Drivers are advised to stay alert to new conditions and signage in the work zones, adhere to posted speed limits, avoid using mobile devices, and remain vigilant for workers and equipment. The construction is projected to be completed by the end of July.
