Due to a forecast of severe weather, the planned traffic pattern shift on W Pioneer Parkway at the intersection with N University Street has been postponed. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, the change will now occur at 7 am on Thursday, June 19.
The shift will affect eastbound and westbound traffic on W Pioneer Parkway, which will be redirected into the northern lanes. This adjustment is part of the ongoing Pioneer Parkway and University Street Intersection Reconstruction Project.
Current lane closures at the intersection will remain unchanged until further notice.
Detour routes have been established to accommodate the changes:
- Northbound traffic on N University Street should use W Willow Knolls Drive to N Allen Road and then travel east on W Altorfer Drive.
- Eastbound traffic on W Pioneer Parkway intending to head north on N University Street should proceed north on N Sommer Street and then west on W Altorfer Drive.
- Southbound traffic on N University Street should utilize W Altorfer Drive to reach N Allen Road and continue west on W Willow Knolls Drive.
- Westbound traffic on W Pioneer Parkway needing access southward onto N University Street should head south via N Allen Road before turning west onto W Willow Knolls Drive.
