Join the Community Development Department of Peoria for a community gathering at the Great Neighbor Appreciation Cookout. The event, designed to foster a sense of community, will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM outside City Hall at the Sonar Tide Pavilion.
The cookout offers free food and drinks alongside various activities such as balloon art and face painting for children. Attendees can also engage in yard games and art activities. Additional features include community resource tables and opportunities to interact with local public service departments. Participants will have the chance to paint a snow plow shovel with Public Works, meet Peoria Police Officers, and explore a fire truck with the Peoria Fire Department.
A spokesperson emphasized the importance of community involvement by stating, "Whether you have lived here for decades or are a recent transplant, you are what makes Peoria a strong and vibrant community. This is our way of showing our appreciation of YOU!"
This event aims to bring together residents of all backgrounds to celebrate their contributions to making Peoria an inclusive city.
