Several downtown streets will be closed on Saturday, August 2, for the St. Jude Run. The event is sponsored by the St. Jude Runners Association and will cause restrictions from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Drivers are advised to use caution and expect delays throughout the day. Alternative routes are recommended due to the expected traffic impact.
The closures begin at 10 a.m., when S.W. Monroe Street will close between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Main Street. At noon, Fulton Street will close between S.W. Monroe Street and S.W. Madison Avenue.
Further closures start at 2 p.m., affecting W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue and W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue between N. Hightower Street and N. William Kumpf Boulevard.
Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., intermittent rolling lane closures will take place on N. William Kumpf Boulevard.
At 5 p.m., S.W. Monroe Street, Main Street, N.E. Jefferson Avenue, and Fulton Street will close until 6 p.m., coinciding with the St. Jude Runners Parade.
Also at 5 p.m., there will be intermittent rolling lane closures on the Bob Michel Bridge.
“Drivers should exercise caution and patience throughout the day. The use of alternative routes is advised, and delays should be expected,” according to organizers.
