City of Marquette Heights City Council met Oct. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

The City Council meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Mayor Little.

ROLL CALL

Aldermen present for Roll Call: Alderman Neuhaus, Crum, Babb, Neumann, Sipes, and Joos.

Also present were Clerk Steele, Police Chief Merritt, and Office Manager Johnson

Absent: Treasurer Worent, Street Superintendent Helms, Water Superintendent Smith, and Fire Chief Hermacinski

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS

Mayor

Kodiak, Sweeper, and Generator need to be added to the agenda for approval of sale.

City Clerk

Employee Health Insurance update

Treasurer

The mid-term budget review has been pushed back. Available to speak to bank regarding securing a loan,

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:

Water and Sewer – Alderman Joos

No Report

Law Enforcement – Alderman Babb

E-Scooter/Bike information and provided a sample ordinance.

Spook Hollow- able to work on the exit

The Animal Control agreement will be $3,997.49

Streets – Alderman Neumann

New Floors and Paint in concessions

Truck 81- water pump

Truck 22-1 recalled

Discussion on Lincoln Storm Drain

Street Sweeper – rubber needs to be replaced

Tree First and Arbor Day- DNR education- City of Champaign

Spray Patching-discussed

still no update on street door

Discussion about no flag or light at the Marquette Heights Park

Public Buildings / Parks – Alderman Sipes

Sign Mid-October- Jusin Hamilton memorial- frisbee golf

Independence Pavilion lights are out

Door maintenance completed 10-6-25

Discussion of energy update through Ameren

Fire – Alderman Neuhaus

Fire training- no keys to fire trail

Pekin replaced the lock. Fire and Police have a copy.

Planning – Alderman Crum

Alderman Joos and Alderman Crum met with Mauer Stutz, move quickly with EPA for treatment plan change, also EPA has grants.

Appraisal for $1000.00 LaSalle Neff Group for 100 Joliet

Add to agenda* $20,000.00 engineer study of PFAS, monies would come from the settlement.

Alderman made a motion, seconded by to approve the Consent Agenda in its entirety. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes, Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

a. Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Crum to approve the change of Committee Chair assignments. Fire will be Alderman Joos and Water will be Alderman Neuhaus Call Vote: All Ayes, Motion passed

b. Alderman Crum made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to approve the change of Committee Members. Alderman Neuhaus from fire to water. Alderman Joos from water to fire Call Vote: All Ayes, Motion passed

CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL:

Chris Williams wants an update on Pigeons.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY.

Alderman Crum made a motion, seconded by Neumann, to enter Executive Session at 7:23 p.m. for purpose of discussing of certain personnel. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.

Council exited Regular Session and entered Executive Session at 7:23 p.m.

Council resumed Regular Session at 8:18p.m.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY.

ADJOURNMENT

Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Babb, to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 8:19 p.m. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
