Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account regarding visits with local businesses and officials in Illinois.
On November 6, 2025, LaHood highlighted the importance of energy infrastructure in the region by posting: "Pembina plays a vital role in helping heat homes in #IL16 and across the Midwest. I appreciated the opportunity to tour their Channahon facility in Grundy County and talk to their team about policies that will help lower energy costs for families in Illinois."
The following day, he described a meeting with local government leaders: "Enjoyed meeting with Grundy County Board Chair Drew Muffler and Administrator Mary Kucharz in Morris to go over their goals for the county and ways we can collaborate to strengthen local communities. Thanks to EMA Director Joe Schroeder for showing me around their impressive" (posted November 7, 2025).
Later that same day, LaHood posted about supporting agriculture in his district: "Started my day in Lee County touring Ludwig Farms’ family-owned operation in Dixon to get a firsthand look at the hard work that goes into producing their award-winning dairy products and discuss strengthening our food supply chain. Grateful to all our dairy farmers in #IL16 who" (November 7, 2025).
LaHood has served as the representative for Illinois' 16th congressional district since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he won against Elizabeth Haderlein by securing over sixty-six percent of the vote.
