Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, published a series of posts on his social media account between November 11 and November 13, 2025, addressing topics ranging from Veterans Day to public safety and legislative activity.

On November 11, LaHood commemorated Veterans Day by stating, "Today, we honor the men and women who risked their lives to defend our nation and the values it represents. We live in the greatest country in the world thanks to the bravery of our veterans who have made countless sacrifices to protect our rights and ensure the United States".

The following day, November 12, LaHood commented on crime trends in Chicago while criticizing local officials. He wrote, "Even with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Gov. Pritzker working to protect criminals and undermining federal law enforcement, violent crime in Chicago is dropping. President Trump proved it in DC and now in Chicago — empowering law enforcement works."

On November 13, LaHood posted about his participation in congressional proceedings: "Waiting and ready to vote tonight in the House of Representatives to put an end to the Schumer Shutdown!"

LaHood has served as a member of Congress since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he won re-election against Elizabeth Haderlein with approximately two-thirds of the vote.
