Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, has recently shared updates on his legislative activities and participation in national events through a series of posts on social media.

On November 13, 2025, LaHood commented on the recent government shutdown, stating, "The Schumer Shutdown was costly, reckless, and completely avoidable. LaHood has served in Congress since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015 and currently represents Illinois' 16th district. In the most recent general election in 2022, he secured reelection by defeating Elizabeth Haderlein with over sixty-six percent of the vote.
