Stark County Board Chairwoman Coleen Magnussen has resigned as chairman and from the board, citing "strife and turmoil" caused by the ongoing budget impasse in Illinois, according to the Edgar County Watchdogs (ECW).

Two bills Sen. Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria) says will ensure a repeat of past problems with Peoria's water system were reviewed by a Senate subcommittee recently.
