The Barry City Council dropped the school-zone speed limit near Western School to 20 mph during a recent meeting.

Several speed-zone signs already have been installed around the school.

The monthly report from the Pike County Sheriff's Office shows no arrests since the last meeting

The Public Works report shows crews have been cleaning out ditches and culverts, and fixing some water leaks; but no more work was done on the playground pool because of muddy conditions.

The council agreed to research the cost of hooking up a home with a septic tank to the city's sewer system after a resident's inquiry.
