City Attorney Raylene Grischow provided several updates on agreements and ordinances during a recent Auburn City Council meeting.

Grischow first noted that there was no update on the intergovernmental agreement between the city and the fire department before presenting for first reading an ordinance that would amend the open burning ordinance and the fine and fee schedule.

Grischow also presented for first reading an ordinance that would amend zoning rules for multi-family housing, replacing and clarifying some outdated definitions and language in the current code and adding new definitions related to care facilities and group homes. If the ordinance were to pass, identified care facilities and group homes would be allowed in R-1, R-2 and R-3 zoning districts, as long as appropriate licenses had been obtained.

Also of note at the meeting was a bid for up to $6,000 to supply training ammunition for the police department. The bid was approved unanimously by the board after some discussion.
