Village of Peoria Heights Board of Trustees met July 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Phelan at 6:00 pm.

2. Everyone stood for the Pledge to the Flag.

3. Upon roll call, the following Trustees were present: Harn, Goett, Dan Mariscal, Diane Mariscal, Reichert, and Carter.

4. Minutes: Trustee Reichert moved to approve the minutes for July 13, 2017. Trustee Goett seconded the motion, which was approved by a vote of 6-0.

5. Correspondence: Clerk Gauf had no correspondence

6. Announcements: Mayor Phelan thanked the Fire Department for putting on a great 100th anniversary parade on July 15th, 2017.

7. Trustee Reports:

Economic and Community Development: Trustee Dan Mariscal announced that Music Fest will be held Friday and Saturday, August 4th & 5th.

Police: Trustee Carter reminded everyone that the next neighborhood watch meeting will be held on July 31st at 6:30.

Building/Property Maintenance: Trustee Goett had nothing to report.

Fire: Trustee Reichert reiterated Mayor Phelan’s comments on the parade.

Public Works: Trustee Harn had nothing to report.

Administration/Personnel: Trustee Diane Mariscal had nothing to report.

8. Comments from the Audience: There were no comments from the audience.

9. Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.

10. New Business:

• Trustee Harn made a motion to approve Resolution 2017-08 to appropriate Motor Fuel Tax Funds to pay PPUATS dues in the amount of $2,226.85. Trustee Carter seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Trustee Dan Mariscal made a motion to approve the Special Use permit requested by Chuck’s Auto Sales to operate a used car sales lot at 3920 N. Boulevard Ave. Trustee Carter seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Trustee Diane Mariscal made a motion to defer the Agreement Regarding Use of Office Space to the next Departmental meeting. Trustee Goett seconded the motion was passed by a 6-0 vote.

• Trustee Carter made a motion to approve the payment of Advanced Audio’s invoice in the amount of $6,250.00 for sound and lighting services at Music Fest. Trustee Reichert seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Trustee Dan Mariscal made a motion to approve the amendment to the Heights Healthcenter, LLC Redevelopment requesting an extension of 30 days. Trustee Harn seconded the motion and it passed with a 6-0 vote.

• Trustee Diane Mariscal made a motion to accept the letter of resignation from the Planning Commissioner, Todd Edwards. Trustee Carter seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Trustee Diane Mariscal made a motion to accept the Peoria Heights Lion’s Club request for a Fundraiser at Seiberling and Prospect on October 14, 2017. Trustee Carter seconded the motion and it was passed with a 6-0 vote.

• Trustee Diane Mariscal made a motion to accept Resolution No. 2017-09 to sell the Village-Owned Property at 419 E. Marietta Avenue to CAN Construction for $500. Trustee Carter seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Trustee Diane Mariscal made a motion to accept Resolution No. 2017-10 to sell the Village-Owned Property at 1101 E. Sciota Avenue to CAN Construction for $1000. Trustee Goett seconded the motion and it passed with a vote of 6-0.

• Mayor Phelan presented a plaque to Jennifer Reichert for her 10 years of service with the Village of Peoria Heights.

11. Treasurer’s Report: Diane Mariscal made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as read. Seconded by Trustee Goett and approved by a group vote of 6-0.

12. Adjourn: Trustee Goett made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:38 pm. Seconded by Dan Mariscal and approved by a group vote of 6-0.
