Hopedale Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The calls in Hopedale included 11 fires - three structure fires, five vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $23,500 in fire loss - or about $2,136 per fire.

The department also received five false calls, including one malicious call and 4 other false calls.
