City of Chillicothe Cemetery Committee met October 18. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

The Cemetery and Parks Committee met on October 18 2017, at 5:15 p.m. in the Council

Chambers at City Hall.

Present:                     Chairman Connor                Alderman Jenkins

                                   Alderman Gould

Also in attendance:   Mayor White                        Superintendent Sutherland

                                  Alderman Sharp

Absent:                      Clerk Hurd

Columbarium Ordinance and Review of Fees -

Chairman Connor led discussion on the draft rules and regulations of the Chillicothe City

Cemetery Columbarium as submitted by Clerk Hurd. Discussion was held in regards to raising

interment fees and opening/closing fees. It was the consensus of the committee to review

documents submitted by Clerk Hurd and discuss at the next meeting.

Shademaker Update -

Chairman Connor reported that the Eagle statue at Cutright Park is completed.

City Park Stage Foundation -

Chairman Connor reported that the Stage has been painted and looks great. An estimate for

Jason Engbrecht was submitted in the amount of $6,500.00 for repairs. It was the consensus of

the committee to budget for repairs next fiscal year.

Drop Off Donation Box -

Superintendent of Public Works told the committee that the cost for a donation box at Moffitt

park would be $259.00

Power to Cutright Park -

Chairman Connor reported that a cost estimate was submitted by Willis Electric in the amount

of $507.50 for a power upgrade.

Cemetery Tree -

Superintendent of Public Works reported that three trees had been replaced in the cemetery.

Leadership Update -

Chairman Connor reported that the cost to seal coat the murals would be $800. It was the

consensus of the committee to seek a less expensive option.

Old Business Park Land – Sycamore Trail -

Chairman Connor reported that 1/3 of the residents have replied to the survey.

Old Business Bicycle/Walking Path Update -

Alderman Jenkins gave an update on the project.

Old Business Eagle Landing Log Boom –

Superintendent Sutherland reported that the boom has been purchased and will be installed

early spring.

Old Business City Park Signage –

Chairman Connor reported that three signs have been ordered.

There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 6:00pm
