Analysis: Canton pays $1.28 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Canton Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 56.2 percent of the $740,853 the Canton Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $1.28 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Canton contributed $416,195 to the fund, which saw a $274,357 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $324,610, or 43.8 percent, in 2016. Another $48 came from other unspecified sources.
