Brimfield Central Fire Protection District responded to 35 calls in 2017 - 2.9 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Brimfield included 27 fires - 12 structure fires, six vehicle fires and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $11,000 in fire loss - or about $407 per fire.

The department also received eight false calls, including four malicious calls and four other false calls.

The Brimfield Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $443,382 in 2017.
