Eureka-Goodfield Fire Protection District responded to 39 calls in 2017 - 29.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Eureka-Goodfield included 10 fires - nine structure fires and one vehicle fire. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $138,000 in fire loss - or about $13,800 per fire.

The department also received 28 false calls.
