City of East Peoria issued the following announcement on July 23.
On Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 6:00 a.m. Pekin Avenue will be closing until Friday, July 27th at 3:30 p.m. Detoured traffic will exit through Creve Coeur, thru traffic will be for emergency vehicles and residents only. The purpose of this closure is to allow for the installation of a new water main. Barricades will be in place throughout the area, along with signs to communicate the closure and allow traffic to take an alternate route during this time. Water service will be briefly interrupted for the 100 block of Pekin Avenue only, starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 until approximately midnight at the latest. The City of East Peoria expects to provide swift installation of the water main in order to reopen the road closure, and appreciates your patience with the inconvenience.
