Unpaid fines for New Lenox-based campaign committees totaled $27,000 in August 2018

Campaign committees in New Lenox collectively owe a total of $27,000 in fines, according to records obtained from the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that three committees in New Lenox were delinquent in payment for August 2018.

The New Lenox-based committee with the largest total in unpaid fines was Progressive Illinois Political Action Committee, which owes a total of $15,000.

The committee has been fined repeatedly for a late quarterly report.
