City of Belleville City Council met Dec. 2.

7-A. Mayor Eckert will recognize the character word of the month “EMPATHY” identifying and understanding others feelings in order to get along better.

7-B. Mayor Eckert will read a proclamation on the 2020 Census.

7-C. Mayor Eckert will recommend the 2020 Census Complete Count Committee.

7-D. Belleville Police Chief William Clay will recognize the following individuals:

7-D(1). T/C Elvira Amezola – Outstanding Performance and Dedication to Duty.

7-D(2). T/C Suzanne Funk – Outstanding Performance and Dedication to Duty.

7-D(3). Civilian Keith Hamilton – Outstanding Citizen Action.

8. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

8-A. Motion to approve City Council Meeting Minutes of November 18, 2019.

9. CLAIMS, PAYROLL AND DISBURSEMENTS

9-A. Motion to approve claims and disbursements in the amount of $14,022,230.21 payroll in the amount of $858,955.02.

12-A. LUCKY LEPRECHAUN 5K - 03/14/2020

Request from Belleville Main Street to approve the Lucky Leprechaun 5K, Saturday, March 14, 2020, 9:00am to 10:30am. Rolling street closures 9:00am to 10:30am. Additional request of Police Officers, barricades and "No Parking Signs".

12-B. OLD TOWN FARMERS' MARKET 2020

Request from Belleville Main Street to approve the Old Town Farmers' Market every Saturday, May 2, 2020 through November 7, 2020, 7:30am to Noon. Street closure request first block of South Charles between East Main and East Washington, 6:30am to 1:00pm. Additional request of city owned parking lots on the NW and NE corners of S Charles St and E Washington St for vendors, as necessary. Additional request of wooden barricades, trash toters, picnic tables, port-a-potty and banner across North Illinois Street as available.

12-C. BELLE-SCOTT COMMITTEE – 01/09/2020

Communication from Belle-Scott - Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce to hold the January Belle-Scott Committee Meeting at City Hall, Thursday, January 9, 2020, 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The meeting will include heavy Hors d'oeuvres, a bar and music.

12-D. RING DOWNTOWN BELLEVILLE – NOV/DEC 2019

Request from The Salvation Army to ring bells during their donation campaign at Gas Light Patio courtyard, 227 East Main Street, Friday, November 29th, Saturday, November 30th, Friday, December 6th, Saturday, December 7th, Friday, December 13th, Saturday, December 14th, Friday, December 20th, Saturday, December 21st, Monday, December 23rd and Tuesday, December 24th, 2019.
