PLEDGE TO THE FLAG 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited before the meeting.

ROLL CALL 

Price, Washburn, Garcia, Padilla, Rossman, and Seidl were present. Corkron was Absent.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION 

None.

CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS 

Price made a motion to approve the consent agenda items as presented:

A. Minutes

1. Regular School Board Meeting of December 17, 2019.

B. Reports

1. Monthly Bills as presented by the Superintendent.

2. Investments as presented.

3. Imprest Fund as presented.

4. Activity Fund as presented.

Rossman seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Rossman, yea; and Seidl, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT 

The Superintendent and Administrators presented reports to the Board of Education.

NEW BUSINESS

CALENDER READING 20-21

Price made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the first reading for the 2020-2021 School Calendar.

Rossman seconded the motion.

Voice Vote, All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

8TH GRADE CLASS TRIP

Rossman made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the 8th Grade Class Trip to St. Louis Six Flags on May 18, 2020.

Price seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Rossman, yea; and Seidl, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

REVIEW CLOSED MINUTES

Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the Ad Hoc Committee’s recommendation that Closed Session Minutes July 2019 – December 2019 remain closed to public viewing.

Padilla seconded the motion.

Voice Vote, All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

FY2021 TENTATIVE BUDGET

Seidl made a motion to move the Board of Education take action to designate the Superintendent to prepare the FY2021 Budget in tentative form. Garcia seconded the motion.

Voice Vote, All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

FISCAL YEAR 19-20 AUDIT

Padilla made a motion to move the Board of Education approve Gorenz and Associates, Ltd. to audit Washington District 50 Schools Financial Statements for Year End June 30, 2020.

Seidl seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Rossman, yea; and Seidl, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

PERSONNEL

RESIGNATIONS

The Board of Education was informed of the following resignations:

A. Arin Houlahan resigned her position as a Paraprofessional at Beverly Manor School.

B. Colby Tapling resigned his position as Girls Track Coach.

EMPLOYMENT

Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the consent agenda for personnel matters.

Action to approve:

A. Haley Willis as a Paraprofessional for Beverly Manor School.

B. Haley Willis as Girls Track Coach. Rossman seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Rossman, yea; and Seidl, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

CLOSED SESSION

Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education enter into closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel per ILCS 120/2 c. (1).

Padilla seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Rossman, yea; and Seidl, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.

Adjourn by acclamation.
