ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT
The Superintendent and Administrators presented reports to the Board of Education.
OLD BUSINESS
TAX LEVY
Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education approve 2019 Tax Levy Resolution (2019 Taxes Payable in 2020.)
Seidl seconded the motion
Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Seidl, yea; and Corkron, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
SCHOOL POLICIES
Corkron made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the second reading and adoption of IASB recommended policies from the October 2019 Press#102.
Padilla seconded the motion
Voice Vote. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
NEW BUSINESS
AD HOC COMMITTEE
Price made a motion to move the Board of Education appoint Corkron and Garcia to serve as Ad Hoc Committee Members to Review Closed Session Minutes July 2019 – December 2019.
Seidl seconded the motion.
Voice Vote. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
RESOLUTION SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Padilla made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the resolution to prohibit sexual harassment.
Garcia seconded the motion.
Voice Vote. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
BUS LEASE
Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the lease of one (1) 71 passenger Thomas Bus from Midwest Bus Sales Inc. as presented.
Corkron seconded the motion.
Roll Call Vote. Price, yea; Washburn, yea; Garcia, yea; Padilla, yea; Seidl, yea; and Corkron, yea. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
AFFILIATION AGREEMENT
Garcia made a motion to move the Board of Education authorize the Superintendent to execute the Affiliation Agreement between Washington District 50 schools and the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University on behalf of its Mennonite College of Nursing, after review by the district’s legal counsel.
Seidl seconded the motion.
Voice Vote. All yea votes. No nay votes. The motion was declared carried.
BOARD GOV WORKSHOP
Dr. Allaman shared open dates identified by IASB’s Field Services Representative to hold an in-district workshop with board members. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 was selected as the tentative date.
PERSONNEL
RESIGNATIONS
The Board of Education was informed of the following resignations:
A. V.M. Haley submitted his resignation as Transportation Maintenance Assistant effective December 20, 2019.
CONSENT AGENDA FOR PERSONNEL
Padilla made a motion to move the Board of Education approve the consent agenda for personnel matters.
Action to approve:
A. Retirement of Shirley Bertelsen as Head Cook at John L. Hensey School effective at the end of the 2019-2020 School year.
B. Employment of Nicholas Beard as a Special Education teacher for Beverly Manor School.
C. Employment of Melody Beac has a part-time Custodian for Beverly Manor School. Garcia seconded the motion.
