"Honored and humbled" were some of the words Sen. Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills) used after being sworn into office on Jan. 5.
The timing of Stroller's swearing-in ceremony was unusual but happened after now-former state Sen. Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria) retired, allowing for the transition to happen.
"I am honored and humbled to be the chosen voice for our region of Central Illinois," Stoller said in a release on his website. "I am ready to get to work and advocate for my constituents at the state Capitol and am eager to help restore our great state."
Stoller will represent the 37th Senate District, which includes all or parts of Bureau, Henry, Knox, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Mercer, Peoria, Stark and Woodford counties.
"Illinois faces many challenges and desperately needs change," Stoller said. "I intend to use my business education and experience to be helpful in turning around our state's financial troubles. It starts by living within our means just like every family and every business."
