Stephanie Trussell, candidate for Lt. Governor for Darren Bailey's ticket attended the Stark County fair.

The former WLS-AM 890 radio host and now Bailey's partner in trying to restore Illinois is going around county fairs as part of their campaign trail.

“I love being on the road and getting to know the hard-working people of our state,” Trussell said.

Trussel became a manager at the young age of 18 and had learned early the value of hard work. At the Stark County Fair, she was able to recognize the importance of 4H events and how these types of events can educate the youth on a lot of things, as well as understand the farmers' needs.

"My very experience at a 4H event," Trussell shared her experience on Facebook. "Watching those kids handle the animals was fascinating. I learned about barrow pigs. These farmers want a governor who will fight for the great state of Illinois!"

Trussell is a valued member of the Bailey campaign. "Together, they are fighting to lower taxes, make streets safer, grow the economy to attract business, educate a new generation, and make Illinois livable again," Bailey's campaign website reads.

She noted her support for Bailey’s movement after being picked as his running mate.

“I love this country, and I continue to support the America First agenda that fights for working people, and I voted for President Trump in 2016 and campaigned and voted for him in 2020,” Trussell wrote, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. “I am a fighter and not someone who always toes the party line, but I support President Trump, and I will not apologize to the internet trolls or the left-wing media for who I am. As a mother of 5 kids and grandmother of 2, the future of Illinois is important to me, and I’m ready to focus on the real issues and fight with Darren Bailey to bring commonsense, conservative solutions to Springfield.”

Bailey introduced Trussell as his running mate in late 2021. "Cindy and I are so excited to be here today with you to introduce to you the newest member of our team. She’s a hard-working conservative, a fighter, a mother, a grandmother and Illinois' next lieutenant governor, Stephanie Trussell,” he said at the time, according to East Central Reporter.
