Women's Basketball Heads to Loyola Chicago
Bradley Women's Basketball (2-4) heads on the road to take on the Loyola Ramblers (2-6) on Saturday night. The match-up is the first of five straight on the road for Bradley.
SCOUTING LOYOLA
The Loyola Ramblers are led by Maya Chandler. Chandler averages 13.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Chandler is coming off an 11 point game in Loyola's loss against Miami (OH). The loss dropped Loyola to 2-5 on the season. Bradley will also have to find a way to contain Sophia Nolan, a 6'1" forward and the Ramblers' second leading scorer. Nolan is shooting 50% from the floor and 42% from beyond the arc, averaging 11.1 points per game. Allison Guth is the head coach for the Ramblers. It is Guth's first year at Loyola after spending six seasons at Yale University, leading the team to 99 wins. Loyola defeated Bradley twice last year.
SCOUTING BRADLEY
The Braves are coming off a 68-71 overtime loss against Kansas City. Ruba Abo-Hashesh led Bradley with 18 points and a career-high 9 assists in 35 minutes of playing time. Caroline Waite, Daija Powell and Alex Rouse all scored in double digits in the loss. The Braves shot 50% from the floor, their highest percentage of the season. Bradley leads the all-time series against Loyola 29-19 and is looking to get back on the right side of the scoresheet after losing the last two games against Loyola.
MOUNTAIN WEST CONNECTIONS
Two of Loyola's assistant coaches, Marsha Frese and Sheila Boykin, spent time out west on staff at San Diego State University, while Bradley assistant coach Symone Denham clocked in time at the University of New Mexico. Both schools are members of the Mountain West Conference.
MILESTONES
Saturday's game will be the 1,298th game in Bradley Women's Basketball history. The 1,300th game will be at Miami (OH) on December 16. The program currently sits at 564 wins all-time and is coming up upon the 600th.
