City of Pekin Fire and Police Commission met Aug. 25.

Minutes of the meeting of the Fire and Police Commission was held at 8:30 a.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
Present at the meeting: Commissioners Dennis Short, Mike Franks, Joel Jackson
Also present: Deputy Fire Chief Tony Rendleman, Police Chief John Dossey, Deputy Police Chief Jeff Little, Deputy Police Chief Seth Ranney
Commissioner Short called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
A motion was made by Commissioner Franks to approve the meeting agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. All in favor.
A motion was made by Commissioner Franks to approve the June 23, 2022 meeting minutes. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. All in favor.

1. FD - Probationary Reports
All probationary Firefighters are progressing well at this time. 4 will be starting Paramedic classes in the fall.
2. PD - Probationary Reports
All probationary Officers are doing fine at this time. One probationary Officer will start the Academy next week. 2 will start the Academy September 12th.

The Battalion Chief list is exhausted. Deputy Chief Rendleman stated that this would be good time to consider an Assessment Center in the promotional process.
Deputy Chief Rendleman stated that the Battalion Chief rank will become a part of the union. The rank will no longer be a management position due to a change is state statute.
