City of Eureka City Council met Nov. 21.

The Eureka City Council convened in regular session on November 21, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Eric Lind called the meeting to order and after a moment of silence led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Chambliss, Klaus, Logan, Peterson, Teegarden, and Williams. Alderman Wilson was absent. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; Erik Hasselbacher, Director of Public Works; Chief Alex Collinge and Melissa Brown, City Services Coordinator.
Moved by Peterson, second by Klaus, to approve the minutes of the November 7, 2022, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Peterson, Klaus, Chambliss, Logan, Teegarden, and Williams all voting Aye.
Moved by Teegarden, second by Peterson, to approve the Treasurer's Report for the month ending October, 2022. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Teegarden, Peterson, Chambliss, Klaus, Logan and Williams all voting Aye.
The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.
Moved by Chambliss, second by Peterson, to approve and pay the bills as the City's obligation in the amount of $122,559.46. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Chambliss, Peterson, Klaus, Logan, Teegarden and Williams all voting Aye
Moved by Chambliss, second by Teegarden, to approve the 2023 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance Provider. This is recommended by the Administration and Personnel Committee. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Chambliss, Teegarden, Klaus, Logan, Peterson, Williams and Wilson all voting Aye.
Treasurer Lynn Hinnen presented the Eureka Police Pension Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2022.
The 2022 Tax Levy of -2.6 percent was explained by Melissa. There has been a 6.4 percent change in home values. No action required tonight. This is the 20-day review period.
Committee Reports:
Chairman Chambliss of the Budget Committee: The State Bill has not worked out as they said it would. Complaints are being sent. The Police Pension has not worked out as we were told it would be. The total in it is $878,176.
Chairman Chambliss of the Administration and Personnel Committee: The committee met tonight to discuss the Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan for employees.
Chairman Teegarden of the Enterprise Committee: No report
Chairman Peterson of the Maintenance Committee: The final leaf pick-up started Friday morning. When that is finished, the snow plows will be put on the trucks.
Chairman L. Klaus of the Public Safety Committee: Eureka has done very well in the Central Illinois Peace Training. We have done more than any other town in Woodford County.
Park and Recreation Committee: This committee will meet before Council on December 5 to discuss the calendar for Special Events.
Chairman Teegarden of the Economic Development Committee: No report
Chairman Mayor Lind of the Liquor Committee: No report

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
