City of Chillicothe Cemetery, Parks, Recreation & Beautification Committee met Jan. 17.

The Cemetery Parks Committee met January 17, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
Members of the Committee present:

Superintendent Shawn Sutherland
Public Comment: None
Purpose:
Budget Review 22-23
Superintendent Sutherland gave a budget report.
Budget Review 23-24
Superintendent Sutherland gave a proposed budget report.
Cemetery - New Section
The Committee had a lengthy discussion regarding the pinning, opening, and possible rate increases in Sections 38, 39 & 40 of the City Cemetery. It was the consensus of the committee to only move forward with the pinning of these sections at this time. Superintendent Sutherland will contact Dave Horton City Engineer to discuss dates for pinning. Additional discussions will be needed in future Cemetery and Parks Committee meetings before a decision can be made on opening and possible rate increases of the new sections.
Shademakers Update
Alderperson Connor, Chairman of Shademakers reported that the Committee received a $500.00 grant from Summer Camp Charities that they are considering using for Moffitt Park improvements. There will be no Shademakers Feburary meeting.
