Q4 2021 Recap: 4 parolees from Tazewell County convicted of crimes involving weapons set for release

There were four offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons living in Tazewell County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving weapons was 46. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joshua J. Jones. He was convicted in 2019 when he was 35 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
