Informational

• JDC Tamper Proof Sprinkler Head Replacement Project

Mr. Sorrel advised that the resolution previously passed out of committee with one abstention. He noted that during that committee meeting, Member Ruhland had several questions regarding the project. He stated that the lone bid on the project came from Pipco. He stated that the original documentation contained a mathematical error that budgeted the project at $10,000.00 over the actual cost, and which is reflected in the revised documentation in the committee packet.

Mr. Sorrel also advised that the original documentation noted six incidences of sprinkler heads broken by juveniles detainees costing $8,900.00, and there was a question as to whether that was a unit cost per incident or an all-in cost. He stated that after further review, the $8,900.00 is the total cost for all six combined.

Mr. Sorrel advised that there was also a question as to the source of funds for the project, and after discussion, the source of funds will be changed from the Capital Project Fund to the Juvenile Detention Center Fund.

Resolution

• 2024 General Maintenance Materials Quotations

A motion to approve was made by Ms. Duncan and seconded by Mr. Windish. Ms. McLaren advised that approval of the resolution allows the Highway Department to obtain vendor quotations on maintenance materials. She remarked that the Department only purchases supplies on an as-needed basis. The motion to approve carried (7-0).
