Rep. Weaver recently highlighted strategies aimed at improving health outcomes and advancing health equity in rural populations during #NOFOFriday. The focus of these initiatives is to address the underlying causes of heart disparities through targeted research funding.

According to Rep. Weaver, "The goal of these programs is to fund research targeted toward addressing underlying causes of heart disparities."

The programs are being supported by the National Institutes of Health, with an award amount of up to $500,000. Eligible applicants for these programs include state and local governments, non-profit organizations, Federally-recognized Tribes, small businesses, and Public Housing Authorities.

Rep. Weaver encouraged those interested in the program or seeking information on other available grants and programs to contact their office. In her own words, "If you or someone you know has any interest in this particular program, or if you would like information on other available grants, programs, or the process involved, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at my website here or call (309) 204-6514."
