City of Batavia Committee of the Whole met May 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Roll Call:

Present: Ald. Lanci, Beck, Solfa, Wolff, Baerren, Leman, Ajazi, Uher, Vogelsinger

Absent: Ald. Barazza, Pieper, Chanzit, Malay, Cerone*

Also Present: Max Weiss, Management Analyst; Drew Rackow, Planning & Zoning Officer; Howard Chason, IT Director; Anthony Isom, Economic Development Manager; Scott Buening, Director of Community and Economic Development; Craig Hanson, Batavia Fire Chief; Rahat Bari, City Engineer; Mayor Schielke, Ellyn Theis.

3. Approve Minutes For: April 23, 2024 and May 6, 2024 Special CoW

Ald Beck noted that on April 23rd, she voted Nay on items 9a and 9b as it relates to the Ashton Ridge Subdivision. The record incorrectly stated that she voted in favor of both items.

Motion: Approve Minutes with exception of Ald. Beck’s Revision

5. Consent Agenda:

a. Resolution 2024-081-R: Requesting a permit from IDOT for the closure of Rt. 31 for 2024 July 4th Fireworks Display (GH)

b. Resolution 2024-083-R: Bid Award for Firewall Security Upgrade (HC)

c. Resolution 2024-084-R: Authorization to Execute Task Order No. 43 with Engineering Enterprises, Inc. for the 2024 Full Water Works System Hydraulic Model Update. (JPB)

d. Resolution 2024-085-R: Authorizing a Contract With FGM Architects for Police Department Space Needs Analysis and Master Plan

e. Resolution 24-086-R: Approving a contract with Ray’s Electric Contractor to perform 35kV underground circuit upgrade in the industrial area along Douglas Rd in the amount of $56,432 which includes 10 percent contingency amount (RB)
