City of Marquette Heights City Council met June 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

The special City Council meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 by Mayor Hamm.

ROLL CALL

Aldermen present for Roll Call: Aldermen Babb, Amundson, Greiner, Joos, and Neuhaus. Also present were Street Superintendent Smith, Deputy Clerk Fogle, and Building Inspector Dearborn.

Absent: Clerk Steele, Treasurer Worent, Alderman Neumann, Police Chief Merritt, Fire Chief Hermancinski and Attorney Herman.

CONSENT AGENDA

APPROVAL OF THE FOLLOWING CONSENT ITEMS BY VOTE:

(All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.

There will not be separate discussion on these items. If discussion is desired by any Member of the City Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.)

1. Approve ZBA recommendation to approve a variance for allowing a pool setback for 307 Rogers Road.

2. Approve ZBA recommendation to approve a variance at 307 Rogers Road for a fence setback of 20 ft.

3. Approve Tim Smith to the position of Superintendent of Water.

4. Approve retroactive pay to Tim Smith for acting Water Superintendent in the amount of $1,024.16 since February 15, 2024.

ITEMS REMOVED FROM CONSENT AGENDA:

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA:

Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to approve the Consent Agenda in its entirety. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Alderman Joos, Amundson, Neuhaus, Greiner, and Babb. Nays: None. Motion passed.

CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL – None.

ADJOURNMENT

Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Babb to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 12:31 p.m. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
