July 15, 2024, Peoria, IL – Dmitri G. Rogatchev, 46, was sentenced to 60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge John Vespa for the murder of Sandra Jackson, 75. The incident occurred in December 2019 at Jackson's home.

Rogatchev served as Jackson's live-in caretaker and became frustrated with her on the night of the murder due to loud television noise. During an argument over the volume, Rogatchev became enraged and physically assaulted Jackson, resulting in a fatal brain injury.

Earlier this year, Rogatchev was convicted by a jury trial. According to statute, he will be required to serve his entire sentence without the possibility of parole.
