Peoria-based company Natural Fiber Welding (NFW) has been named a finalist for the 2024 Earthshot Prize. The Earthshot Prize, initiated by Prince William, aims to identify and scale innovative solutions to significant environmental challenges over the next decade.
NFW is a finalist in the “Build a Waste-Free World” category, having been selected from nearly 2,500 nominees across 139 countries. The company, located in Peoria, produces natural, biodegradable fabrics and materials. These products assist brands and designers in creating environmentally friendly clothing, shoes, and other items.
The recognition highlights NFW's contribution to sustainable manufacturing practices.
