State Representative Ryan Spain has called on constituents to contribute to his annual Holiday Diaper Drive, aimed at assisting families in need during the holiday season. The drive seeks donations of diapers, baby wipes, and diaper cream, which are essential items for young families.

Spain highlighted a significant issue faced by many families: "Nearly 1 in 2 families in the U.S. struggle to afford diapers, but programs like WIC and SNAP do not cover diapers and many other items families need to care for a baby." He added that local food pantries often face challenges in meeting the demand for these supplies. "This annual diaper drive has become a way for us to help fill the gap as the holiday season approaches so families can sleep a little easier," Spain stated.

Donations are being accepted until December 11 and can be delivered in person or shipped directly to Spain's office in Peoria. Contributions can also be made through an Amazon wish list.

The drive will conclude with a Drive-Thru Donation event on December 11 at Illinois Central College North Campus. Representative Spain and his staff will be present to collect donations from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
