State Representative Ryan Spain has been re-appointed as Deputy Republican Leader by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie. This appointment continues Spain's role in shaping strategic policy decisions for Illinois families and businesses.

"Serving as a Deputy Leader is an honor and I value the trust Leader McCombie has in me to work beside her to advocate for our state’s future," stated Spain.

In addition to his leadership position, Spain has been named co-chairman of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR), a bipartisan legislative oversight committee. This committee is responsible for overseeing the rule-making process by state agencies, ensuring that rules align with legislative intent, informing the General Assembly about law implementation, and facilitating public understanding of regulations.

"JCAR holds a critically important role in making sure the rules abide by the original legislative intent when the laws are passed," Rep. Spain commented. "I am looking forward to continuing the essential work of this committee, to ensure our government’s checks and balances remain intact."

Tony McCombie emphasized Spain's qualifications, stating, "Ryan Spain is a diligent leader and I am confident he will continue to be a strong advocate for our caucus and residents across our state. Our state faces many challenges in this new term and Ryan’s fearless pursuit of beneficial public policies will make all the difference for the great state of Illinois."

Representative Ryan Spain serves Illinois' 73rd District, which covers parts of Bureau, Henry, Lee, Marshall, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Whiteside, and Woodford counties.
