Today, Congressman Darin LaHood of Illinois' 16th district expressed his support following the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. In a statement released from Washington, D.C., LaHood shared his optimism about the future under President Trump's leadership.

“Today is a new day in America. Because of this historic election, we are a nation filled with hope for a more safe and prosperous future,” said Rep. LaHood. He emphasized key areas where he believes progress will be made, stating, “Under President Trump, we will restore our economy, secure our border, protect American national security, and promote peace through strength."

LaHood also highlighted his commitment to collaborating with the new administration and congressional colleagues to fulfill campaign promises. "I look forward to working with President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, their teams, and my colleagues in Congress to deliver on the promises we made to the American people," he stated. Concluding his remarks with a familiar slogan from Trump's previous campaigns, LaHood added, "Together, we will Make America Great Again.”
