Earlier today, Representative Weaver welcomed his nephew Willie to Springfield, where he served as a page for the day. Willie, who is homeschooled, joined Weaver on the House Floor during a speech concerning HB 2827.

Weaver criticized HB 2827, describing it as "a classic example of ridiculous and unacceptable government overreach." He emphasized that homeschooled children receive an excellent education with ample field trips and hands-on learning experiences. According to Weaver, these children have the same opportunities in life as those attending public schools.

"Parents know what’s best for their children," Weaver stated, adding that "there is no reason the government should be involved in this."
