Earlier this month, a call for nominations of influential women educators was made, resulting in numerous heartfelt responses. The goal is to highlight these educators on social media and a website over the coming weeks, acknowledging their significant contributions to students and colleagues.
Rebecca Baney from Kewanee School District #229 is featured today. Her nominator shared: “Mrs. Baney has made a major impact on my career in education. She was my freshman English teacher but is now the superintendent of the Kewanee School District. From the time she was my teacher until now, she has inspired me to become a teacher and continue to push through any obstacle that comes my way. I am lucky to be able to teach at Kewanee School District with such a great leader. She is a wonderful role model and example for women in education!”
Superintendent Baney's leadership and service are appreciated by Kewanee #229 and its community.
