Dena Hodge-Bates, the principal of Neponset Grade School, is the focus of today's Woman Educator Spotlight. A nominator praised her for her significant impact on students and the community.

"Dena has went out of her way for my son many times. She has helped to shape him into the amazing young man he is today," said the nominator. "She has helped so many students at NGS and has been such a rock in their lives."

The nominator emphasized Hodge-Bates' dedication to helping students who might otherwise be overlooked by the system. "There are so many kids that would have been lost in the system and she has taken them under her wing to help redirect their behavior and given them the benefit of the doubt," they noted.

The transformation of students under her guidance was also highlighted. "I have seen so many children blossom into wonderful human beings after being in her school," stated the nominator, adding that Dena Hodge-Bates is a vital part of the community deserving recognition.
