Report: Midwest Central spent $9,660 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Midwest Central Community Unit School District 191 is down 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mason County school district spent $9,787 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,660 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1038 to 950.

Midwest Central's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
