The Board entered into Executive Session to discuss Personnel Matters.

Police Eligibility List:
Motion: To determine Police Candidates Roger Maslon and Bryan O’Neill to be ineligible for any further consideration as a police officer with the City of Batavia based on his background investigation.

Motion: To grant Police Candidate Jared James a First Pass on the 2019 Police Officer Eligibility List.

Motion: To change the time of the April 6, 2021 meeting from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) to interview police officer candidates.

Chief of Police Daniel Eul discussed possible solutions for hiring a probationary police officer even though there is a shortage of Police Academy class availability.
Lateral Transfer Hiring: Chief Eul gave more information on adding the option of Lateral Transfer Hiring for the Batavia Police Department. The Board has given their approval for Chief Eul to move ahead with getting the information needed for adding Lateral Hires to their Rules and Regulations. Chief Eul will reach out to John Broihier, attorney for the Illinois Fire and Police Commission, for information and will report back to the Board at the April meeting.

The Board entered into Executive Session to discuss Police Sergeant Promotion Testing. Motion: To approve going into Executive Session to discuss Police Sergeant Promotion Testing at 4:44 p.m.

Chief of Police Daniel Eul discussed where the department is at with the Police Sergeant Promotion Test. At this time, they have talked with Resource Management Associates about facilitating the promotional test and discussed the study materials that have been chosen for the written test and Assessment Center.

There being no further business to consider, a motion was made by Commissioner Zies to adjourn the meeting at 5:04 p.m. Seconded by Secretary Anderson. All in favor. Motion carried.
