Representative Tim Butler is hosting various meeting-and-greet events amidst the upcoming election on June 28.

“I’ll be there to talk about our campaign; we will have yard signs and literature; and if you want to join us for door knocking, we will be hitting the Chatham area and Springfield's west side on Saturday afternoon,” Butler wrote on Facebook.

Ballotpedia wrote he took to office in 2015 and his term is expected to end in January 2023.

On a May 28 Facebook post, Butler rallied voters.

"Hey Sangamon, Christian, and Macon counties: the 2022 primary election is in four weeks, June 28...one month...from today,” he wrote. “In the #New95th District, I am the ONLY person running who lives in the district. Early voting has been open for almost two weeks and County Clerks say that turnout has been robust. Whether you go to the polls early or vote on Election Day (that's what I'm doing this year), I would truly appreciate your vote in the June 28 Republican Primary! #GetOutTheVote”

Butler told the State Journal-Register that he has concerns about how states tallied votes during the last presidential election and Joe Biden won the presidency.

On January 10, Butler announced he would run to represent the new 95th District. “Today I announced that I’ll run for election in the new 95th District, which contains parts of Christian, Macon, and Sangamon counties,” he wrote. “I look forward to running in this new district and to continue to serve as your voice at the State Capitol.”

The State Journal-Register reported Butler voted against Senate Bil 2408, that’ll promote the growth of renewable energy in the state, back in 2021.

On June 5, he announced that he was endorsed by The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police.

“ENDORSEMENT ALERT! Crime is on the rise and now a lot of people running for office want you to believe they support law enforcement even though they have voted against supporting our police,” he wrote. “I have been a strong voice for law enforcement. I have stood with them because I know they are there every day, every minute, protecting my family and yours. I #BackTheBlue with my votes and my words. That is (why) I’m so proud to be endorsed by the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police.”
