The city of Peoria has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the 2025 Roof Program Lottery on Monday, January 13th. This initiative aims to support low-income homeowners in need of roof repairs by providing financial assistance.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must own their home and have current homeowners’ insurance. Additionally, they should be up to date with property taxes and free from any outstanding fines or fees owed to the city. Income limits are set according to household size, ranging from $51,600 for a single-person household to $85,500 for a six-person household.
Applications will be open until Friday, February 14th at 2:00 PM. It is important to note that only one entry per household is allowed, and applying does not guarantee receiving assistance.
Residents can submit their applications in three ways: online through the Roof Program Lottery page; by calling (309) 494-8629; or in person at City Hall located at 419 Fulton Street, Room 203 in Peoria during weekday mornings.
The lottery draw will take place online via GoToMeeting on Wednesday, February 19th at 10:00 AM. Participants can join using their computers or smartphones by accessing a specific link or call into the meeting using provided contact details. Attendance at the lottery is not required for selection as all applicants will be informed of results afterward.
Selected applicants and those on the waitlist will have their names posted online following the draw. For further inquiries regarding the program, individuals are encouraged to contact the Development Center directly via phone or email.
