On November 16, LaHood commented on a sports event with the message: "What a game! Great win on the road against the Vikings!! https://t.co/rE3LRUBG8S".
The following day, he reflected on participating in an official ceremony at the White House. On November 17, LaHood wrote: "It was an honor to join @FLOTUS at the White House last week for the signing of the Fostering the Future for American Children and Families Executive Order, which will help ensure every child has an opportunity to succeed!

On November 18, LaHood described his experience joining President Biden in support of a major international sporting event. He posted: "Honored to join @POTUS in the Oval Office today and applaud his leadership and commitment to the U.S. hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

LaHood has served in Congress since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015 as representative for Illinois’ 16th district. In 2022, he won re-election by defeating Elizabeth Haderlein with more than two-thirds of the vote.
