Cincinnati, Eastern and Senachwine top the list in Illinois with the highest spending per capita in 2017, Illinois State Comptroller financial reports show.
About 64,800 Metro Peoria residents – or about 17.5 percent of the region’s population – were on food stamp rolls in January 2017, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of 66 Illinois welfare offices.
In the last election, 55 assessors in 36 counties, including five in Metro Peoria, were illegally placed on the ballot and elected, according to the Edgar County Watchdogs.
